Top 10 Longest Rivers in the World
Here it is - the (almost) definitive list of the top ten longest rivers in the world. I say almost because when researching for the facts for the longest rivers list, I was amazed to see that almost every source :-) I looked at quoted a different length for the longest river! I did my research online and offline (yes, there are still libraries out there... and books... you know, encyclopedias and things...) and I decided the best way to present the top ten list of the world's longest rivers was to give a between figure for the length of the rivers. So, the first length is the longest measurement from a reliable source in kilometres, and I have highlighted it. Enjoy.

The Longest River in the World
How truly definitive this Longest Rivers in the World list is, I don't know........ but what is not in dispute is that the River Nile in Africa is ........ tah rah THE LONGEST RIVER IN THE WORLD ...... Rah! Rah! Rah!
The Longest River in the world, The Nile, originates in Ethiopia and then flows northwards through Eritrea, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Egypt, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The source of the Nile was a mythical quest in Ancient Times, and now we know, thanks to explorers and geologists that the world's longest river has two source tributaries, The White Nile and The Blue Nile. The White Nile rises in the Great Lakes region of central Africa in Southern Ruanda. The source of the Blue Nile is Lake Tana in Ethiopia.
The Longest River in the world, The Nile, ends in a large delta that empties into the Mediterranean Sea.
