NASA
I have collected together some NASA facts and bytes of information that might be useful for NASA work projects or, if like me, you are an inveterate fact and information gatherer.

NASA Seal
NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration
NASA, an acronym for The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was founded in July 29th 1958 by an act of the United States Federal Government to take responsibility from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics for all things relating to space and space exploration.
NASA's Motto and NASA's Mission Statement
NASA's motto is "For the benefit of all" and NASA's own mission statement is to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery, and aeronautics research."
NASA Achievements and Successes
NASA has successfully placed men on the moon with the Apollo Mission and in addition has led the US in space with the Skylab space station, and the Space Shuttle.
NASA's Current Work
NASA is currently supporting the International Space Station. NASA is also developing new Ares I and IV launch vehicles, which may be used for future trips to the moon and perhaps Mars.

NASA's Apollo Program
NASA's Apollo program was designed from the first to safely send men to the moon, land them there, collect samples of moon dust and rock, and then safely bring the men back from the moon. Apollo succeeded wildly, culminating with the success of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first human beings to walk on the surface of the moon.
NASA Collaboration
NASA worked in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), to launch and support The International Space Station, which in turn played a role in launching The Hubble space Telescope - both of which are ongoing projects.

NASA Photographs
NASA is a fantastic source of photographs both historic and current detailing NASA's involvement in the exploration of space. See the NASA links below for the NASA website and the NASA Pic of the Day page.
